Job Description

Addx Corporation is hiring a Data Engineer in Colorado Springs, CO or Denver, CO for an onsite role. You will build and operate the data foundation that machine learning applications depend on, by integrating and delivering cleaned, standardized datasets. This position focuses on streaming and sensor data ingestion plus reliable delivery of trusted datasets using Python and AWS.

What you’ll do

  • Investigate available interfaces, message formats, historical coverage, data volumes, arrival rates, and quality limitations to understand downstream constraints.
  • Document findings to support implementation planning and capacity planning.
  • Develop maintainable workflows for both streaming and historical data across databases, APIs, files, and application-specific interfaces.
  • Implement configurable filtering so the right messages and measurements flow to downstream consumers.
  • Evaluate processing, storage, and access approaches using representative workloads, with attention to reliability, interoperability, operational complexity, and cost.
  • Capture and document architecture decisions to support evolution as requirements become clearer.
  • Establish consistent schemas, timestamps, units, identifiers, and source metadata while preserving the meaning of measurements.
  • Add validation and traceability, and define dependable access methods in partnership with the ML team.
  • Support future feature, labeling, and training-data workflows.
  • Build tested, documented pipelines with repeatable deployment, monitoring, and appropriate access controls.
  • Handle duplicates, missing data, delayed arrivals, and out-of-order events, including recovery and reprocessing procedures.

What you bring

  • Experience designing, implementing, and operating production streaming and batch data pipelines and their supporting storage systems.
  • Strong software engineering skills: maintainable code, automated testing, version control, and deployment.
  • Practical understanding of streaming behavior including filtering, consumer progress, buffering, failure recovery, and replay.
  • Experience organizing time-series, telemetry, sensor, or similarly complex data, including schema evolution, partitioning, and efficient access patterns.
  • Ability to investigate unfamiliar systems, evaluate technical tradeoffs, and communicate recommendations while balancing reliability, performance, maintainability, and cost.

Technologies

  • Python
  • AWS

Valuable experience (preferred)

  • Python-based data processing and AWS or comparable cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience with radar, OPIR, or other sensor measurement data.
  • Workflow orchestration, containers, infrastructure as code, and automated delivery.
  • Dataset versioning, feature generation, labeling, or training-data preparation.

Salary: USD 120,000 - 150,000 per year.
