Data Engineer I (TM1, Python, AWS)
Job Description
Data Engineer I at Travelers in Hartford, CT builds and operationalizes data pipelines and solutions to enable AI/ML and business intelligence using TM1, Python, and AWS.
Responsibilities
- Build and operationalize complex data solutions, address problems, apply transformations, and recommend data cleansing and quality improvements.
- Design data solutions aligned with analytic needs.
- Analyze data sources to determine value and identify data to include in analytical processes.
- Incorporate core data management practices including data governance, data security, and data quality.
- Collaborate within and across teams to support delivery and educate end users on data products and the analytic environment.
- Analyze data and systems to diagnose and resolve defects and incidents of moderate complexity, implementing appropriate fixes.
- Test data movement, transformation code, and data components.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related STEM field, or equivalent education/work experience.
- Six years of related experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with financial reporting software (TM1/IPA, Essbase, Hyperion, etc.).
- 2+ years of hands-on Python experience, preferably with TM1py and Pandas.
- Experience with cloud platforms and services, with AWS preferred; examples include S3, IAM, Lambda, Secrets Manager, EC2.
- Proficient use of tools, techniques, and practices across cloud platforms, programming languages, and data engineering.
- Prior Finance or Accounting experience is a plus.
- 2 additional years of software/data engineering experience.

Salary Range
$109,300.00 - $180,200.00 per year
