Data Scientist
Job Description
Golden State Warriors is hiring a full-time Data Scientist to help Basketball Operations stakeholders make better long-term decisions. This remote role supports research and predictive modeling by turning large datasets into actionable insights, working in close partnership with data engineering, analysts, and analytics leadership.
You will build, deploy, and monitor predictive models while developing the features those models need. The position also emphasizes staying current with basketball analytics and data science practices, with collaboration across technical and non-technical partners to integrate results into decision-making processes.
Role summary

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience
- 4+ years of experience working with a data analytics team
- Extensive experience with Python
- Advanced predictive modeling experience, including hands-on use of libraries such as Keras, scikit-learn, XGBoost, and PyMC3
- Experience with SQL and relational databases
- Experience working in cloud environments (such as GCP, AWS, or Azure)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Git
- Experience with scalable ETL/ELT and operating predictive models in production is a plus
- Experience with distributed computing and streaming frameworks is a plus
- Ability to build positive working relationships with clients and peers at all levels
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong presentation skills to influence technical and non-technical partners
- Ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Passion and curiosity for basketball
- Flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays throughout the year
