Job Description

Ford’s Yield Management team is hiring a Data Scientist to support collaborative “Value Sprints” with advanced analytics, profit optimization, and decision analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Access and analyze data to develop solutions, including advanced analytics and ad-hoc data models
  • Apply a structured problem-solving mindset during sprints
  • Define the sprint mandate and problem statement with key stakeholders
  • Lead analysis and develop insights and implications of decisions
  • Consider enterprise-wide impact and sensitivity of sprint recommendations
  • Communicate analysis insights, implications, and outcomes of recommendations
  • Deliver clear and actionable recommendations based on modeling results
  • Apply and integrate latest analytical tools built by the Yield Management Advanced Analytics modeling team
  • Prepare presentations and reports for management and business customers
  • Perform analysis and modeling across Yield Management scope:
    • Profit optimization & decision analysis
    • Vehicle line demand estimation
    • Price sensitivity analysis
    • Counter-factual modeling
    • Hypothesis testing

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Economics, Analytics, Business, Strategy, Finance, Mathematics/Statistics, or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Computer Science, Economics, Analytics, Business, Strategy, Finance, or related field
  • 3+ years using various modeling methodologies, including economics, econometrics, statistics, and data mining; ability to explain results to a non-technical audience
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • 3+ years in Python and database languages such as SQL

Even Better, You May Have

  • MBA or PhD degree in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science in an appropriate field of study
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and programming/statistical software utilizing large datasets
  • Knowledge of Marketing & Sales, including exposure to some combination of go-to-market strategy, brand marketing, field ops, sales, variable marketing, pricing, allocation, production, or supply chain
  • Fast learning with hands-on focus on technical excellence and innovation; lifetime learning attitude
  • Ability to make reasonable judgment and conclusions with limited information and resources, and quickly convert business requirements into modeling problems
  • Executive communication experience (written and verbal)
