Job Description
The Data Scientist in Advanced Market Analytics & Modeling at Olympus will support the Global Market Analytics Center of Excellence by building driver-based market models, forecasting, and segmentation that inform business planning, strategy, innovation, and KPI measurement.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate complex business questions into actionable data queries and advanced analytical solutions aligned to business planning, strategy, innovation, and KPI measurement.
- Design, build, and validate market models, forecasting, and segmentation using scalable data science and AI techniques.
- Integrate key market drivers into analytical models, including procedure volumes, epidemiology, macroeconomics, market data, reimbursement trends, product launches, and business assumptions.
- Develop analytics for business products such as global market models, procedure volume analytics, epidemiology analytics, and market KPI dashboards, with a focus on accuracy, reliability, and business impact.
- Use external and internal data assets to deliver integrated driver-based market models and quarterly market KPI analysis across business units.
- Apply statistical methods and machine learning (supervised and unsupervised) to identify actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making.
- Partner with stakeholders in Market Intelligence & Analytics and across functions to define business needs, standardize analytics processes, and deliver insights tied to strategic objectives.
- Develop and implement standardized analytics processes to maintain consistency, quality, and scalability.
- Advise stakeholders on market analytics methodologies, best practices, and emerging trends to support continuous learning and proactive problem-solving.
- Maintain commitment to excellence, adaptability, and proactive problem-solving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, analytics, mathematics, engineering, or a related discipline; an advanced degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in data analysis, data science, or an equivalent area, preferably in healthcare, medical device, or life sciences.
- Minimum of 7 years designing, implementing, and interpreting statistical analysis projects, including forecasting, segmentation, and multivariate forecasting techniques.
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience leading data projects cross-functionally.
- Experience with Python or R, and expertise with enterprise data science platforms.
- Experience with AI model planning, implementation, and validation in an enterprise environment.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to understand technical and clinical needs and transform business problems into data solutions.
- Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills, including demonstrated experience developing data capability for complex projects.
- Self-motivated approach with high commitment and a proactive mindset.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication, including PowerPoint and presentation skills.
- Detail oriented with a focus on high-quality deliverables; strong project management skills and ability to multitask with follow-through on deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Travel less than 10% (domestic and international).

Location and Travel
Westborough, MA 01581 (hybrid). Additional working locations include Massachusetts (Westborough), Pennsylvania (Center Valley), and Nationwide.
Travel: less than 10% (domestic and international).
