Job Description

Join JPMorganChase’s Internal Audit organization as a Data Analytics Solutions Associate, partnering with audit teams to design and deliver analytics and data science capabilities that support audit testing and continuous monitoring.

Role Overview

Within Consumer and Community Banking, this role provides end-to-end analytics and data science solutions across the audit lifecycle. Responsibilities include shaping analytic testing approaches and delivering continuous auditing and monitoring activities, with an emphasis on risk-based execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver end-to-end analytics and data science solutions across the audit lifecycle, from problem framing and requirements through data acquisition, analysis/modeling, visualization, and deployment, using tools including SQL, Python, Alteryx, Databricks, Tableau, Agentic Studio, Smart SDK, and related platforms.
  • Convert audit objectives into analytic hypotheses and test designs, selecting appropriate methods across descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and anomaly detection techniques to support risk-based audit scoping and execution.
  • Work closely with audit leads and key stakeholders to define and refine analytics and data science requirements, managing relationships, expectations, scope changes, and communications to improve value and efficiency.
  • Build repeatable, scalable solutions using reusable code modules, workflows, dashboards, templates, and datasets to improve efficiency and enable auditor self-service where appropriate.
  • Develop solutions for non-audit-cycle activities such as continuous auditing, continuous monitoring, automated testing, advanced testing, and event or trigger-based analytics to surface emerging risks.
  • Apply data management and governance practices, including data lineage, data quality assessment, access controls, documentation, and definitions/metadata, to support reliability, auditability, and reproducibility.
  • Implement quality controls for analytic outputs, including validation checks, reasonableness testing, peer review, and clear documentation of assumptions, limitations, and interpretability for advanced models.
  • Manage multiple concurrent deliverables by planning work, prioritizing effectively, and meeting timelines and budget expectations while maintaining accuracy and usability.
  • Evaluate and adopt new tools and techniques to improve team effectiveness, including recommending process improvements, automation opportunities, and platform enhancements.
  • Communicate insights clearly to audit teams, technology/data partners, and senior stakeholders, using tailored messaging and visuals to support understanding and action.
  • Support team enablement through knowledge sharing, including guidance, demos, and lightweight training, while contributing perspectives on where analytics and data science add value.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in Audit, Data Analytics, Data Science, Risk/Controls, or a closely related role.
  • Experience with large, complex datasets (multiple disparate sources, high volume), including data wrangling, validation, enrichment, and building analytics and data science solutions.
  • A recent track record of delivering repeatable, production-ready data science and analytical solutions such as automated workflows, dashboards, anomaly detection, and model development.
  • Strong understanding of data ecosystems including databases, data warehouses/lakes, ETL/ELT patterns, and APIs/files, with awareness of how technology design affects risk, controls, and auditability.
  • Working knowledge of technology and data risks/controls and the ability to apply this knowledge when designing solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences, with strong interpersonal skills for partnership building.
  • Strong critical thinking and structured problem-solving skills, including framing ambiguous questions, testing hypotheses, and finding practical solutions under time constraints.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks with attention to detail and effective prioritization, with follow-through against timelines.
  • Working knowledge of data management principles such as data quality, lineage, metadata, governance, privacy/access considerations, and documentation practices supporting reproducibility.
  • Self-motivated, proactive approach with accountability and sound judgment, able to operate through ambiguity while maintaining high standards, professionalism, and integrity with limited supervision.
