Junior Data Scientist

Wpromote is seeking a Junior Data Scientist to support data processing, model maintenance, and analytics reporting while building proficiency in advanced data science techniques. The role works closely with teams across Engineering, Reporting, Product, Paid Media, and Data Science to deliver client-facing insights.

Responsibilities

• Learn to transform, improve, and integrate data in line with business requirements.
• Plan and scope end-to-end data analysis projects by defining the business problem and selecting investigative tests and solutions.
• Use SQL and BigQuery to combine and prepare datasets from multiple sources.
• Present data clearly and effectively for both technical and non-technical audiences, including visually appealing delivery.
• Support the maintenance of existing media-mix models through directed retrains and reporting on performance changes.
• Organize and collect results from media-mix models, incrementality tests, clean rooms, and related analyses to support Wpromote’s learning culture.
• Conduct guided marketing analyses to support client and internal needs.
• Assist with presentations by preparing data pulls, performing ad-hoc analyses, and creating slides.
• Learn to automate data gathering, blending, and transformation workflows.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Reporting, Product, Paid Media, and Data Science to understand and support client needs.

Requirements

• Intermediate R or Python skills for data cleaning, data modeling, pipeline development, API calls, and related tasks.
• Experience with statistical modeling, machine learning techniques, and LLMs.
• Intermediate SQL, including window functions, stored procedures, views, triggers, unions, CTEs, subqueries, and debugging.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets.
• Experience with at least one BI platform (Looker, Tableau, Power BI, etc.), with the ability to learn others; Looker preferred.
• Experience or familiarity with version control tools such as Git or Bitbucket.
• Strong organizational skills to balance competing client requests while working with complex datasets with accuracy and deadline focus.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of statistics, probability, and linear algebra.
• Strong communication skills, including experience creating and delivering presentations and executive summaries.
• Demonstrated critical thinking through analysis of numbers, trends, and data to form meaningful insights.
• Interest or passion for marketing analytics and/or a portfolio of personal projects.
• Associate’s degree, bootcamp certification, or practical work experience in a quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Economics, Engineering, etc.).

Nice to Have

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative field.
• Exposure to marketing analyses such as media-mix models (MMM), incrementality testing, CAC, and lead scoring.
• Experience with analytics software, such as Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics.
• Familiarity with clean room environments (FBAA, AMC, Google ADH).
• Experience with cloud computing (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.).

Job Details

Location: Remote (remote)

Compensation: USD 88,000 - 100,000 per yearly

Education: Associate’s degree or bootcamp certification, or practical work experience in a quantitative field
