Planning Data Analyst - Strategic Planning
Job Description
In New Orleans, LA onsite, the Planning Data Analyst supports strategic planning by translating data into actionable guidance for executive decision-making, long-range planning, and growth across regions and service lines.
Responsibilities
- Utilizes multiple data sources to extract, blend, and analyze large data sets, identifying strategic opportunities and supporting growth while maintaining and validating data sources and databases.
- Produces standard reporting packages on daily, weekly, and monthly cadences to back service lines and system growth initiatives; handles ad hoc reporting requests and responds to questions from report users.
- Contributes to system‑wide strategic planning processes and special projects; identifies growth opportunities, risks, and trends through data analytics and delivers actionable recommendations.
- Assists with service line growth initiatives using data such as inpatient discharges, claims, demographics, and mapping software.
- Participates in professional development activities.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in data analysis or planning roles
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with database applications
- Strong competency in Excel and Tableau or other data analysis, mapping, and visualization software
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information clearly to stakeholders across the patient care process
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with leadership and support staff
- Excellent organizational and time-management capabilities
- Sound judgement and decision-making abilities

Physical and Environmental Demands
- Predominantly sedentary work; occasional lifting up to 10 pounds; walking or standing may be required briefly as part of routine tasks

- No occupational exposure risk to communicable diseases; potential exposure to hazardous medications or waste may occur depending on duties
