Production Data Engineer

Toyota Financial Services Site Reliability Engineering is hiring a Production Data Engineer to help keep financial software and systems running smoothly. This onsite role in Plano, TX puts you at the center of production support, where you troubleshoot complex issues, collaborate with product and engineering teams, and partner closely with the Major Incident Management team to resolve critical environmental problems.

How you’ll make an impact

• Serve as the primary point of contact for production support, managing and resolving tickets across multiple business units.
• Triage and prioritize incoming support tickets based on urgency and business impact.
• Perform root cause analysis and apply critical thinking to solve complex production challenges.
• Analyze support ticket trends to proactively identify recurring issues and drive long-term solutions.
• Document processes, resolutions, and recurring issues to support knowledge management and training.
• Propose and implement process improvements to reduce ticket volume and improve operational efficiency.
• Monitor system performance and take proactive steps to address potential issues before they escalate.
• Collaborate with the Major Incident Management team to address and resolve critical production-environment incidents.

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience designing and implementing data pipelines across multiple systems and platforms.
• 5+ years of experience applying data and systems engineering principles across the data lifecycle.
• 4+ years of experience working with operational and analytical workloads.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience building and supporting full-stack data engineering solutions.
• Experience developing reusable and scalable data frameworks.
• Experience understanding functional and non-functional requirements gathering.
• Familiarity with Enterprise Data Warehouse, ETL, and data management concepts and processes.
• Experience working with cloud-based, analytical, distributed, and open-source technologies.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Snowflake, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with optimizing cloud resource usage and cost through rightsizing and autoscaling.
• 4+ years of experience automating operational tasks and incident response using scripting and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
