Job Description

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an SAP Master Data Analyst focused on Service Management to analyze, govern, convert, maintain, and continuously improve service master and transactional data in SAP S/4HANA. The role ensures service operations and downstream processes, including inventory, financials, billing, and customer outcomes, are supported by accurate, consistent, and compliant master data.

Role Focus

The SAP Data Analyst for Service Management evaluates how service master data drives service transactions and how those transactions flow into inventory, financial processing, billing, and customer results within SAP S/4HANA. This includes establishing governance, defining data standards, managing conversions, and troubleshooting master data issues across the service lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a master data governance framework to support data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with business and regulatory standards.
  • Define, document, and enforce organization-wide master data policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Lead initiatives to improve data quality and resolve data-related issues.
  • Govern, maintain, and improve service master data in SAP S/4HANA.
  • Define standards for business partners, products, equipment, functional locations, installed bases, serial numbers, contracts, warranties, maintenance plans, and billing plans.
  • Analyze relationships among customers, assets, products, contracts, warranties, and service organizations.
  • Identify duplicate, incomplete, inconsistent, obsolete, or incorrectly assigned records and assess the downstream impact on scheduling, service execution, parts availability, billing, reporting, and customer experience.
  • Define ownership, validation rules, lifecycle controls, and stewardship procedures.
  • Support creation, change, extension, transfer, retirement, and ongoing remediation of service data.
  • Lead or support conversion of service master and transactional data into SAP S/4HANA, including analysis of legacy structures, source fields, business rules, dependencies, and data gaps.
  • Define source-to-target mappings, transformation rules, validation criteria, and reconciliation requirements.
  • Map legacy customers, products, equipment, functional locations, installed bases, contracts, warranties, orders, confirmations, and related objects to SAP structures.
  • Support cleansing, enrichment, standardization, conversion templates, and approved data-load methods.
  • Coordinate extraction, transformation, validation, loading, mock conversions, dress rehearsals, cutover, and post-load validation; reconcile legacy, staging, and SAP records, including investigation of rejected records, missing relationships, and incorrect assignments.
  • Document mapping logic, assumptions, exceptions, unresolved issues, retention, and archival requirements.
  • Ensure converted data supports service execution, inventory, billing, reporting, and financial processes.
  • Maintain and validate service requests, notifications, orders, maintenance orders, confirmations, technician assignments, time recordings, parts, goods movements, subcontracting, contracts, warranty claims, billing, invoices, credit memos, and accounting postings.
  • Trace relationships among service transactions, customers, assets, materials, technicians, organizations, and financial documents; analyze statuses, document flows, timestamps, quantities, values, and organizational assignments.
  • Identify incomplete, delayed, duplicated, reversed, or incorrectly processed transactions and support correction and remediation of invalid or incomplete data.
  • Reconcile service execution with inventory, controlling, revenue, cost, billing, and profitability data; analyze service labor, parts, external services, costs, revenue, margins, and profitability.
  • Use released SAP S/4HANA CDS views for service master and transactional data, and support custom analytical queries and reusable data models where standard content is insufficient.
  • Work with released APIs and data models aligned with clean-core principles; define dimensions, measures, filters, status logic, business rules, and data lineage.
  • Build datasets for service operations, asset management, field service, parts usage, contract compliance, billing, conversion, and maintenance.
  • Validate analytical results against SAP transactions and business expectations; define service master and transactional data-quality rules, validation controls, and reconciliation procedures.
  • Monitor completeness, accuracy, consistency, timeliness, uniqueness, and validity, identifying root causes and downstream impacts of data-quality issues.
  • Support cleansing, remediation, exception reporting, periodic reviews, and corrective-action tracking, while establishing controls to prevent recurring issues and enable ongoing maintenance after go-live.
  • Establish procedures for creating, changing, extending, blocking, and retiring service master records, including review and validation of data-change requests against standards and business rules and coordination of approvals for sensitive or high-impact changes.
  • Maintain work instructions, operating procedures, and maintenance documentation; support approved mass-maintenance activities, testing, reconciliation, post-go-live stabilization, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Service Process Owners, Field Service, Customer Service, Asset Management, Finance, Controlling, Supply Chain, SAP functional teams, data engineers, and analytics teams to translate service requirements into SAP data, conversion, and maintenance needs; facilitate discovery, mapping, cleansing, conversion, and maintenance sessions.
  • Present data-quality issues, conversion results, reconciliation findings, root causes, and recommendations; coordinate issue resolution and prioritize improvements based on operational and financial impact.
  • Support system upgrades, migrations, and implementations through master data readiness and compliance; troubleshoot and resolve master data issues within the SAP environment.
