Senior AI Engineer

The Senior AI Engineer will take end-to-end ownership of a finance domain, delivering production-grade AI agent systems for CFO office workflows. The work is backend-heavy in practice, with full-stack execution across context engineering, prompt and tool design, evaluation, guardrails, and user experience in partnership with finance stakeholders.

Role Overview

You will own the finance domain end to end, covering the complete lifecycle from context engineering and prompt design through tool use, evaluations, and guardrails, along with the UX layer around these systems. You will also collaborate with controllers, accountants, and CFOs to replace manual workflows with reliable production agent systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Own a finance domain end to end, including context engineering, prompt design, tool use, evaluations, guardrails, and the UX around these components
• Partner directly with controllers, accountants, and CFOs to transition manual processes to production-grade agent systems

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years building and shipping production AI agents
• 4+ years of backend or infrastructure engineering
• Research background in ML, NLP, or AI agents
• Early-stage startup experience (pre-seed to Series B)
• On-site role in NYC, six days per week on startup hours

Compensation and Work Details

• Location: New York, NY (on-site)
• Schedule: On-site, 6 days/week (startup hours)
• Salary: USD 170,000 to 220,000 per year
• Equity: 0.1%–0.35%
