Job Description

Based in New York City with a hybrid work setup, Harvey offers a finance powered analytics role that supports company wide decision making. The Senior Analytics Engineer, Finance will build the financial data foundation, develop scalable pipelines, and create semantic models to enable analytics across Finance, Product, and leadership. The position includes eligibility for an equity plan, comprehensive health, dental and vision coverage, a 401k match up to 4%, and flexible PTO.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable data models and pipelines with dbt to transform raw data into clean, reliable assets for company wide financial analytics and decision making.
  • Define and maintain a robust semantic layer (LookML, Omni, or similar) that standardizes financial and operating metrics such as revenue, retention, customer growth, usage, margin, and forecast inputs.
  • Collaborate with Product, Finance, and the Exec Team to deliver intuitive, consistent dashboards and analytical tools that surface business health metrics such as ARR and NRR.
  • Establish and advocate data modeling standards and best practices to ensure accuracy, performance, usability, and long term maintainability across the analytics stack.
  • Lead data governance efforts, upholding data quality, consistency, documentation, and access controls across the analytics ecosystem.
  • Structure financial metric definitions, business logic, and accounting context to enable AI assisted reporting, natural language analytics, and automated anomaly detection.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
  • Strong expertise in SQL, dbt, Python, and Snowflake.
  • Experience with modern BI tools such as Looker or Omni, or equivalents.
  • Ability to define core financial and operating metrics, surface insights, and resolve data inconsistencies across complex systems.
  • Proficiency with version control (GitHub), CI/CD, and modern development workflows.
  • Bias for action and a preference for launching usable, iterative data models that deliver immediate value.
  • Strong communicator who can build trusted partnerships across Finance, GTM, Product, and Executive stakeholders.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity in fast moving, cross functional environments.
  • Balance between big picture thinking and execution precision, knowing when to dig into details and when to move quickly.
  • Experience modeling financial, billing, subscription, CRM, or usage based revenue data.
  • Solid understanding of business metrics such as ARR, MRR, churn, retention, expansion, bookings, billings, and revenue recognition.

Compensation

USD 155,000 - 235,000 per year
