Senior Cost Engineer and Data Analyst
Job Description
Onsite in Herndon, Virginia, this senior role blends cost engineering with data analytics to support Space programs within Lockheed Martin's PACE team. You will work on cost models, dashboards, and data-driven decision support with a focus on Strategic Missile and Defense captures and related programs, with potential cross-LOB opportunities. The position offers a competitive annual salary range of USD 85,500 to 150,765, eligibility for an incentive plan, and clear opportunities to grow in data science disciplines. A bachelor’s or master’s degree is expected, and the role requires the ability to obtain Secret security clearance; this is an onsite, full-time position with a defined 9x80 schedule every other Friday off.

Responsibilities
- Understand and implement proven cost models on relevant captures.
- Perform cross-checks for program estimates.
- Develop and deploy dashboards leveraged by the team.
- Develop and present results to colleagues and senior staff.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Business Development, Program Finance, Estimating, Proposal Management, and ICE around model results.
- Become knowledgeable and available to answer questions around cost estimates and cost drivers.
- Work shoulder to shoulder with data science analysts building and enhancing tools and capabilities for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Take advantage of opportunities to grow andUpskill in data science disciplines and technical abilities.
Requirements
- Ability to obtain Secret security clearance
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering, Finance, Math, Operations Research, or any other field or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly detail-oriented with the ability to balance multiple tasks at once
- High degree of accountability and responsibility with the ability to be a self-starter
- Ability to work with Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with and understanding of one or more of the following: cost models, data collection, data analytics, systems engineering and/or finance or related areas
