Job Description

Rippling’s Payments Data & Analytics team is seeking a Senior Data Analyst (Internal title: Data Scientist) to build analytics and reporting across the payments money-movement lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Partner cross-functionally with engineering, accounting, financial partnerships, and product teams to analyze and account for billions of dollars moving through the Rippling payments platform
  • Perform full-cycle analyses using SQL, Python, and other scripting/statistical tools
  • Develop real-time metrics dashboards to track key financial and operating levers
  • Monitor payment flows across systems, banks, processors, and inter-company accounts
  • Run daily account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to resolution
  • Address emerging financial issues by summarizing facts and providing recommendations for timely resolution
  • Work with stakeholders (Accounting, Compliance, Treasury, etc.) to understand reporting and reconciliation requirements and build scalable solutions for automation
  • Support internal tool development and/or third-party tool implementation for reporting and reconciliation workflows
  • Document reconciliation processes and procedures comprehensively
  • Deliver data and reporting solutions for month-end close, regulatory and compliance reporting, and Internal and External Audit reporting
  • Present findings and recommendations through clear, concise presentations and reports

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, Econ, Math, Business Analytics, or a related field
  • 4+ years applying analytics engineering, analysis, modeling, and/or exploratory analysis to large datasets
  • Experience in payments processing, quote-to-cash, or financial reporting is preferred
  • Experience with data warehousing, ETL, and reporting tools including Snowflake, Tableau, dbt, and Dagster
  • Extensive SQL experience across the data science development lifecycle (initial analysis, model development through deployment)
  • Experience collaborating with engineering, finance, and accounting teams to identify data needs and build automated reporting pipelines
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to interface with multiple stakeholders and senior leadership, including C-suite
  • Bonus: Experience with general accounting principles, the general ledger close process, and regulatory compliance

Compensation & Location

  • Location: New York, NY (onsite)
  • Salary: USD 114,000 - 190,000 per year
