Job Description

Based in New York, NY with a hybrid work model, Verse Medical seeks a Senior Data Engineer to design and scale data architectures and pipelines that power product development and operations. The role collaborates with engineers, data scientists, and operations teams to ensure data is reliable, accessible, and actionable across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and manage robust data pipelines that ingest, process, and integrate data from multiple sources.
  • Develop clean, well-structured data models to support business operations, executive reporting, and advanced analytics.
  • Improve data architecture and storage solutions to enhance performance, reduce costs, and optimize batch and real-time workflows.
  • Ensure data accuracy, quality, and compliance through governance, observability, and monitoring best practices.
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate business problems into scalable, actionable data solutions.
  • Own the ongoing reliability and evolution of production data products, driving projects from concept to execution.
  • Operate with initiative and autonomy in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in data engineering, analytical engineering, or data architecture.
  • Strong SQL and Python skills, with experience building complex, high-performance queries.
  • Deep experience with modern data stack tools, including data integration tools (Fivetran, Airbyte), transformation frameworks (dbt), and modern data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
  • Proven ability to design, build, and scale end-to-end data infrastructure, including pipelines, schemas, dimensional models, analytics layers, and ML-ready datasets.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, governance, privacy, and observability best practices.
  • Excellent problem solving, communication and analytical skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.

Core Skills & Experience
