Job Description

Build and optimize data infrastructure and Business Intelligence capabilities that turn raw data into actionable insights for data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines in Snowflake using efficient ETL (Extract Transform Load) and/or ELT (Extract Load, Transform) approaches while following data warehouse best practices
  • Implement and manage scalable data models and transformations using dbt (Data Build tool) with Snowflake
  • Create and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and user-defined functions in Snowflake
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions using Snowflake and compatible BI tools
  • Partner with data architects, DBAs, and other stakeholders to deliver data solutions that are reliable, scalable, and maintainable
  • Identify and resolve data quality issues to improve data integrity across systems
  • Document data processes, architectures, and code to support knowledge transfer and maintainability
  • Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance on Snowflake best practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned and modified at the manager’s discretion

Requirements

  • Advanced-level business acuity and strong understanding of core job functions, practices, processes, procedures, techniques, and methods
  • Extensive Snowflake experience, including data modeling, performance tuning, and security features
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with Python or other programming languages
  • Expert knowledge of data warehouse concepts and modern data architectures
  • Experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP, plus data integration tools
  • Familiarity with BI tools compatible with Snowflake, such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook); competency in other required systems
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally, regionally, and/or nationally up to 10%, and to work evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as needed
  • Spoken and written fluency in English
  • Ability to use and exercise independent judgment

Education and Experience Criteria

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred or additional experience above the minimum may be considered in lieu of required education on a year-for-year basis
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in data engineering or related roles
  • Experience with real-time data streaming and processing
  • Knowledge of machine learning concepts and their data requirements
  • Familiarity with data governance and security best practices
  • Experience in the healthcare or finance industry

Compensation

  • $99,369 - $141,957 salary (per year)
  • Final compensation will depend on factors including experience, education, geographic location, and other relevant factors
  • May be eligible for bonuses or commissions
