Senior Data Scientist

In this hybrid role based in Basking Ridge, NJ, you will lead analytics efforts and own end-to-end AI and machine learning solutions. As a Senior Data Scientist at Verizon, you will develop and operationalize models, validate data used for analytics, and communicate insights to leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop advanced statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and computational approaches to generate data-driven insights aligned to business initiatives.
• Oversee data gathering, evaluate data validity, and synthesize information into large analytics datasets to support project goals.
• Analyze structured and unstructured data using data mining and machine learning and deep learning tools.
• Apply data visualization, digital and web analytics tools, and storytelling techniques to present insights clearly.
• Build and train statistical models and machine learning algorithms for predictive and analytical use cases.
• Support operationalization activities, including wrapper scripts, REST services, triggers, and monitoring.
• Prepare supporting documents and reporting materials required for delivery and stakeholders.
• Mentor and guide one to two team members on technical aspects as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Four or more years of relevant experience demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
• Four or more years of experience in advanced analytics, predictive modeling, quantitative modeling, statistics, or data mining.
• Experience working with third-party B2B data, including firmographics, contact details, technographics, and buyer intent signals.
• Experience using GenAI and LLM tools (for example, Claude Code) to accelerate software delivery and development velocity.
• Experience across end-to-end analytics project phases, including ingestion, munging, model building, validation, operationalization, and monitoring.
• Experience building models using supervised and unsupervised machine learning, deep learning, and text classification.
• Knowledge of Python, SQL, PySpark, Scala, and/or other languages and tools.

Salary and Location

Location: Basking Ridge, NJ (hybrid)

Compensation: USD 101,000 to 194,000 per year

Weekly schedule: 40 hours

Hybrid Work Expectations

This is a hybrid position with a defined work location. You will work from home and complete at least three days per week in the office, as set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.
