Senior Director, Data Scientist - Global Payment Network

Capital One’s Global Payment Network is built on data-driven decision making, and this Senior Director role leads data science efforts that help turn large-scale records into actionable insights. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams while applying machine learning and computing technologies across the full model lifecycle, from design through evaluation, validation, and implementation.

What you’ll do

• Collaborate with a cross-functional team of data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to help deliver a product customers love
• Use a broad technology stack, including Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark, and more, to uncover insights within large volumes of numeric and textual data
• Develop machine learning models through all development phases: design, training, evaluation, validation, and implementation
• Translate complex technical work into tangible business goals

Requirements

• Education and experience: Bachelor’s degree plus 10 years of experience in data analytics, or Master’s degree plus 8 years, or PhD plus 5 years
• Open source at scale: at least 4 years of experience using open source programming languages for large-scale data analysis
• Machine learning: at least 4 years of experience with machine learning
• Relational databases: at least 4 years of experience with relational databases

Technology focus

• Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark
• Open-source languages, including Scala and R
• Relational databases

Compensation and location

• Riverwoods, IL (onsite): USD 286,200 - 326,700 per year
