Senior Workforce Data Analyst

Based in Columbia, the Labor Market Information division of the State of South Carolina focuses on turning workforce data into practical insight. The Senior Workforce Data Analyst will lead analyses of employment and labor trends, translating findings into actionable guidance for the agency, state partners, businesses, and jobseekers, while supporting the Coordinating Council for Workforce Development. This onsite, senior-level role blends quantitative analysis with policy awareness and stakeholder communication.

• Salary: USD 85,000 - 95,000 per year

Responsibilities

• Lead data analyses for the state's education and workforce development system
• Communicate workforce insights effectively to stakeholders
• Develop, produce, implement, and deliver workforce information reports, analyses, products, and services
• Serve as subject-matter expert on developments in economics and public policy

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in business, economics, public policy, public administration, mathematics, statistics, data analytics, computer science, or related field, plus five years of experience in research and analysis of policy challenges
• A doctoral or professional degree in any of these fields
• Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Extensive knowledge of Excel, Power BI, Python, R, Stata and/or SQL
• Extensive experience with statistical analysis and social science research techniques
• Ability to coordinate efforts within other divisions, agencies, and organizations
• Ability to communicate effectively and in an engaging manner with a wide variety of stakeholders
