Sentinel Principal / Sr Principal Data Analyst

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sentinel Principal or Senior Principal Data Analyst to join the Huntsville, Alabama team on the Sentinel program. The role concentrates on Assured File Transfer data analysis, classification and release reviews, and security compliance to ensure proper handling of sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a thorough understanding of the subject matter and all applicable classification, marking, and release requirements.
• Conduct end-to-end reviews of materials requested for release, validating classification accuracy, sensitivity, and release eligibility.
• Consider SME expectations and potential data spill implications before approving any High-to-Low Assured File Transfer.
• Communicate classification or release eligibility concerns clearly to the AFT SME and other relevant stakeholders.
• Decline sign-off when classification is uncertain or information cannot be released at the requested level; escalate for adjudication when needed.
• Document review decisions, rationale, and required changes; track issues through resolution.
• Complete required training (CAD Reviewer SME training and refreshers) and stay current with policy updates.

Requirements

• Active U.S. Government DoD Secret clearance at the time of application, current and within scope, with ability to obtain and maintain DoD Top Secret clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period as determined by the company.
• Ability to conduct rigorous reviews of program materials prior to public or external release.
• Experience working within an Integrated Product Team (IPT).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project.
• Strong communication skills across multiple organizational levels with excellent presentation abilities.
• Ability to obtain and maintain the required clearances applicable to the role.
• Principal Data Analyst: at least 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; 3 years with a Master's; 1 year with a PhD; 4 years of additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Sr. Principal Data Analyst: at least 8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; 6 years with a Master's; 4 years with a PhD; 4 years of additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Salary

• Primary level salary range: $89,900.00 - $134,900.00 per year
• Secondary level salary range: $112,200.00 - $168,200.00 per year
