Job Description
Uber is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to shape data strategy, build scalable data pipelines, and translate data-driven insights into actionable guidance for customer support technology and cross-functional decision making. This on-site role in San Francisco blends rigorous analytics with strategic storytelling to inform product improvements and global operations.
Responsibilities
- Define data strategies and tooling to empower support teams to deploy, assess, monitor, and enhance customer support technology.
- Blend analytics with communication methods to interpret data and present insights that drive strategic decisions.
- Convert complex data into concise narratives that answer key business questions for diverse audiences.
- Frame data-driven recommendations in a leadership-ready way to shape strategy and align cross-functional teams around shared goals.
- Develop robust analytical frameworks and scalable data pipelines that enable deep-dive investigations and cross-team analysis.
- Advance a global-first approach by creating sustainable, standardized solutions that reduce ad hoc processes and ensure consistency across markets.
- Leverage user data to inform product improvements and new features, uncovering trends to guide innovation and growth.
- Demonstrate agility in handling urgent priorities while maintaining thoughtful, accurate solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Build and maintain efficient data pipelines, ETL processes, and data products that ensure accuracy, scalability, and low maintenance across global teams.
- Empower analysts and partners with scalable frameworks, training, and tools to boost analytical efficiency and consistency.
- Lead in-depth analyses to identify root causes of performance trends and translate findings into actionable insights for strategic and operational improvements.
- May telecommute.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Engineering, Operations Research, Communications, or related field, plus three years of relevant experience.
- Experience performing scalable analyses with R or Python.
- Proficiency with SQL and database query languages.
- Experience with A/B testing or simulation techniques.
- Ability to debug and monitor production services.
- Experience in data analysis or machine learning systems.
- Quantitative modeling experience, including machine learning models, time-series forecasting, or causal analyses.
- Statistical analysis skills, including descriptive statistics, correlation, regression, or confidence intervals.
- Ability to frame and communicate data-driven recommendations to align cross-functional teams and shape strategy.
- Experience building and scaling analytical frameworks, tools, and training to empower global analysts and partners.

Location: San Francisco, CA (onsite). Salary: USD 167,000 - 204,000 per year. On-site offices remain central to collaboration and Uber's culture. Remote work may be possible by exception; otherwise, employees are expected to spend at least 50% of their time in the office. The role offers a compensation package that may include a bonus program, equity, and other compensation, along with a broad benefits program.
