Agentic AI Engineer
Job Description
RTX Corporate, via RTX BBN Technologies, is hiring an Agentic AI Engineer to design, develop, and deploy agentic AI systems. This hybrid role is based in Arlington, VA and focuses on turning agentic AI research into working prototypes and production-ready capabilities, with experimental evaluation and technical publication support.
The position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance. The role centers on building Python frameworks, collaborating across research and engineering, and documenting results through high-quality technical writing.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy agentic AI systems for autonomous reasoning, planning, and multi-step task execution.
- Build and optimize Python-based frameworks and tools to support scalable agent architectures.
- Integrate cutting-edge research into practical applications through rapid prototyping of new agentic capabilities.
- Collaborate with research scientists and engineers to design experiments, evaluate system performance, and produce technical documentation.
- Lead or contribute to peer-reviewed publications, white papers, and internal research briefs.
- Partner with product and engineering teams to translate research insights into real-world impact.
Requirements
- Python experience, including building production-quality systems.
- Experience developing agentic or autonomous AI systems.
- Experience with the latest research in agentic AI, LLM architectures, planning algorithms, or autonomous reasoning.
- Experience designing and running experimental evaluations for AI models or agents.
- Technical writing skills, including experience authoring research papers, preprints, or detailed technical reports.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional research and engineering teams.
- U.S. citizenship is required to be eligible for a security clearance; ability to obtain and maintain the clearance is required.

Compensation: USD 95,500 - 181,700 per year.
