Job Description

The Analytics Engineer - Payments role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining data services to process and provide visibility into payment data, enabling cross-functional teams with accurate data and dashboards across the money movement lifecycle.

Compensation

The pay range for this role is 114,000 - 199,500 USD per year (US Tier 1).

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across engineering, accounting, financial partnerships, and product teams to analyze and account for billions of dollars moving through the payment platform.
  • Develop end-to-end analyses using SQL, Python, and other scripting or statistical tools, and create real-time dashboards to manage key financial and operating levers.
  • Monitor payment flows between systems, banks, processors, and inter-company accounts; perform daily reconciliations and address discrepancies.
  • Respond promptly to emerging issues, summarize findings, and propose actions for timely resolution of critical financial matters.
  • Partner with stakeholders in Accounting, Compliance, Treasury, and others to translate business requirements into scalable reporting and reconciliation automation solutions, including internal tools and third-party implementations.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of reconciliation processes and procedures.
  • Prepare data and reporting solutions to support month-end close, regulatory and compliance reporting, and internal and external audit activities.
  • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders through clear and concise presentations and reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or related fields.
  • 4+ years of experience applying analytics engineering, analysis, modeling, or exploratory analysis to large datasets, ideally in payments processing, quote-to-cash, or financial reporting.
  • Experience with data warehousing, ETL, and reporting tools (for example Snowflake, Tableau, dbt, Dagster).
  • Strong SQL skills across all stages of the data science development process, from initial analysis to deployment.
  • Experience working with engineering, finance, and accounting teams to assess data needs and build automated reporting pipelines.
  • Solid problem-solving abilities and clear communication skills suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to interact with multiple stakeholders and senior leadership across the organization.
  • Bonus: experience with general accounting principles, the general ledger close process, and regulatory compliance.
