Data Analyst

Hunter Strategy is hiring an entry-level Data Analyst to support program stakeholders in a federal environment. In this remote role, you will help keep data clean and reliable, contribute to reporting via dashboards and reports, and communicate insights in clear terms for non-technical audiences.

What you’ll do

• Maintain and organize data sets so they stay accurate, consistent, and usable.
• Assist with data cleansing and quality checks on incoming data, flagging issues and helping resolve them.
• Build and update reports and dashboards for the team and program stakeholders.
• Pull data from multiple sources and help maintain the reporting environment, including data sources and metadata, with guidance from senior analysts.
• Support data integrity and normalization efforts to keep information consistent across systems.
• Handle confidential and sensitive data carefully and follow applicable data handling guidelines.
• Translate reporting requirements into clear terms and explain results to non-technical audiences.
• Support end users by answering questions and helping them use new reports and dashboards.

What you’ll need

• Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, business, information systems, statistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Comfort working in Excel and an interest in working with data day to day.
• Some exposure to data analysis or visualization tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, R, Tableau, or Power BI through coursework, projects, internships, or work.
• Strong attention to detail along with clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust clearance, which requires U.S. work authorization.

Compensation and hiring timeline

The salary range for this position is USD 60,000 to 70,000 per year (posting notes a salary range of $63,000 to $70,000). This role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust clearance. Hunter Strategy is filling a current vacancy and intends to have the position filled by September 1, 2026.
