Data Analyst, Senior

Emory University is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to support the acquisition, management, and analysis of data drawn from multiple sources. This onsite role in Atlanta, GA focuses on strengthening data quality, consulting on database needs, and enabling reliable reporting and dashboards through well-documented data processes.

What you’ll do

• Support the acquisition, management, and analysis of data from multiple sites or sources.
• Assist with the configuration and management of technology solutions used for the receipt, transformation, validation, and storage of data.
• Help ensure that data use through reports and queries remains appropriate and aligned with intended purposes.
• Act as an organizational consultant for database-related matters, providing expertise to help users meet their needs.
• Develop automated quality control procedures to assess data quality and provide reports to data owners.
• Work effectively in a group setting across the design of data collection instruments, database management, data analysis, and report and dashboard creation.
• Develop and perform analyses as needed.
• Explain analysis methods, assumptions, and support interpretation of results, including implications.
• Document methods and results by maintaining standard documentation artifacts such as data dictionaries, standard operating procedures, and analysis methodology descriptions.
• Coordinate with onsite or field-based counterparts to support consistent implementation of data quality measures and access to central data repositories.
• Perform related responsibilities as assigned.

Required qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, plus three years of experience in processes and standards related to data; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Experience with relational database management systems, such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or MySQL (preferred).
• Experience with statistical packages such as SAS, SPSS, or R (preferred).
