Data Analyst
Job Description
The Data Analyst will support the Cuse Athletics Fund’s data and analytics strategy at Syracuse University, working with CRM platforms, database development, and revenue generation analytics. The role is focused on turning data into actionable insights, delivering timely reporting for marketing and fundraising performance, and maintaining the quality of the data ecosystem.
Location and Work Arrangement
Syracuse, NY (onsite)
This position is based at the stated campus location and requires regular in-person presence to support students, collaborate with colleagues, and contribute to the academic environment. Remote work is limited in accordance with University policy.
Compensation and Experience
USD 62,400 per year
Minimum experience: 3 years
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Nonprofit Management, Business, or a related field (required)
- Master’s degree preferred
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for CRM systems, including Data Insights and Blackbaud
- Manage the relationship between the athletic development team and the university advancement Data and Analytics team
- Support data and analytics management for the Cuse Athletics Fund
- Automate web form processes for lead generation/creation, data acquisition, and notifications
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 3 to 4 years plus experience
- Technical expertise with data models, database design and development, data mining, and segmentation techniques
- Demonstrated proficiency in math, statistics, economics, engineering, or a related field
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, or R for analysis and reporting
- Experience with data transformation and ETL tools such as Tableau Prep
- Experience with data visualization and reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Excel
- Proficiency in fundraising CRM/databases, including platforms such as Blackbaud CRM, Salesforce, Ellucian Advance, or similar
- Direct experience working in college athletics, university advancement, or professional organizations
- Master’s degree or advanced education
- Experience with business process mapping, evaluation, and redesign
- Experience demonstrating knowledge around sales and service, preferably in the sports industry, including familiarity with email marketing platforms

Work Schedule
- Standard University business hours
- Academic year: 8:30am to 5:00pm
- Summer: 8:00am to 4:30pm
- Hours may vary based on operational needs
