Job Description

Based in Atlanta, GA, this onsite Data Analyst role sits on Home Depot's Rental Data Analytics team. You will translate data into actionable insights to drive revenue growth and optimize rental operations, focusing on scalable data models, SQL-driven dashboards, and analytics storytelling in collaboration with Rental teams. The position emphasizes cross-team collaboration, ad hoc analysis, and delivering clear data narratives for business decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities

  • 20% Analytical Findings: Present insights in readily understandable terms and connect analytics to the broader business context.
  • 30% Data Analytics Tools: Leverage data analytics tools to create dashboards and reports, including building scalable data models, advanced SQL queries powering dashboards, and Tableau front-end dashboards, while handling ad hoc requests.
  • 20% Reporting Responsibilities: Carry out existing reporting and analytical duties with accuracy and consistency.
  • 10% Technical/Subject Matter Development: Expand technical competencies and deepen subject matter expertise within the core function.
  • 20% Work Output: Ensure high-quality deliverables with meticulous attention to detail.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to convey complex ideas in easy-to-understand terms to diverse audiences.
  • 2-3 years of experience in data mining, statistical analysis, auditing, or forecasting.
  • Experience with SQL or MS Access to join relational tables, plus familiarity with another scripting or programming language (e.g., VBA, Python, R, SAS, .NET, C++, Java).
  • Experience building reports and analyses with tools such as Excel, JMP, SAS, Mathematica, SPSS, Tableau, etc.
  • Direct experience in a subject matter relevant to the Rental domain (e.g., Supply Chain, Merchandising, Operations).
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
  • Hands-on experience with database systems like MS Excel, MS Access, SQL Server, Teradata, Oracle, or similar.

Education

  • Minimum: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
