Job Description

AWS Kumo is building customer-facing reporting and analytics that support support operations at scale. As a Data Engineer in Bellevue, WA (onsite), you will help strengthen the foundations behind data quality, monitoring, and availability, enabling reliable insights for teams across BI, data science, machine learning, and product.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and improve the current data architecture, with a focus on data quality, monitoring, and data availability.
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists to help implement advanced analytics algorithms that leverage rich datasets for statistical analysis, prediction, clustering, and machine learning.
  • Partner with business analysts to build and verify hypotheses aimed at improving the AWS Support business.
  • Continuously improve reporting and analysis processes to simplify self-service support for customers.
  • Stay current on big data technologies, run pilots, and design data architecture that scales as customer experience data sets grow.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of data engineering experience.
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
  • Experience with one or more query languages such as SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, or Scala.
  • Experience with one or more scripting languages such as Python or KornShell.

Helpful experience

  • Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, and EMR.
  • Experience with one or more ETL tools including Informatica, ODI, SSIS, BODI, or Datastage.

Compensation: USD 101,300 - 160,000 per year.
