Data Engineer III - Click Stream Data Products

On Expedia’s Clickstream Data Products team, you’ll help design, build, and scale data platforms and services that capture and deliver traveler interaction signals. The focus is on building dependable pipelines and products with automated quality, data contracts, and strong observability, so teams can use behavioral data that is accurate, timely, and easy to consume. You’ll also work on safely integrating AI/ML-enabled solutions that improve real-world outcomes.

What you’ll do

• Design, build, and maintain reliable data pipelines and services that support business and product outcomes across multiple domains.
• Apply strong technical aptitude to data engineering challenges, including system design, low-level design, API design, data modeling, and scalable data processing.
• Develop, test, deploy, and operate production-quality data solutions with emphasis on reliability, performance, maintainability, and security.
• Collaborate with engineers, product partners, analysts, and domain experts to translate complex requirements into effective data products and technical solutions.
• Use data-driven analysis to improve pipeline performance, data quality, operational visibility, and decision-making across supported services and domains.
• Safely integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions, including familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows, and applying AI/ML concepts to real-world products.

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.
• 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience building and operating production data pipelines, services, or platforms, with ownership across multiple services or a defined technical domain.
• Proficiency in data modeling, data processing, software development fundamentals, API design, and system design, including low-level design.
• Experience delivering maintainable, testable, and reliable solutions, with understanding of observability, incident response, performance, and operational excellence.
