Data Engineer, NAST-CX Tech

Join Amazon.com Services LLC in Bellevue, WA as a Data Engineer on the Amazon Transportation Services team. You will design, implement, and maintain scalable data infrastructure and ETL pipelines using AWS to enable reporting, analytics, and ML initiatives. Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into a data platform design for use by business intelligence engineers, data scientists, and product managers.
• Collaborate with other technology and data engineering teams to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources using AWS data technologies.
• Evaluate and adopt the latest AWS offerings to enable new capabilities and improve efficiency.
• Maintain and enhance existing data pipelines and establish scalable, automated data ingestion processes.
• Partner with BIE leaders, business owners, and developers to explore new data sources and deliver BI and analytics solutions.
• Architect end-to-end automated data pipelines so datasets are readily consumable by visualization tools, ML platforms, and reporting processes.
• Improve processes to maintain data integrity, availability, and auditability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of data engineering experience.
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
• Proficiency with SQL.
• Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS.
• Experience mentoring team members on best practices.

A Day in the Life

As a Data Engineer, you will develop new data engineering patterns that leverage cloud architectures and will extend or migrate existing data pipelines to align with evolving architectures. You will design and implement complex ETL pipelines in the big data platform and other BI solutions to support growing data needs, delivering data as a service that informs day-to-day decision making across the business.
