Job Description
Counsel Health is seeking a Founding Data Analyst to help establish the FinOps data foundation, define and measure operating metrics, and enhance reporting and operational workflows as the organization scales. This role requires close collaboration with Finance & Operations and stakeholders across Commercial/GTM, Finance, Clinical Ops, and Operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain the data foundation that supports company-wide reporting and analytics.
- Deliver data support to stakeholders across functions, including product metrics, commercial and client reporting, and internal financial and operating metrics.
- Develop the Operating Scorecard and management dashboards to provide visibility into business performance and a single source of truth.
- Collaborate with the Analytics Engineer to validate pipelines and confirm metric definitions.
- Transform messy datasets into reliable outputs that teams can act on.
- Create and help teams adopt AI-powered tools and workflows to make FinOps reporting faster and more efficient.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (CS, statistics, applied math, or similar), with meaningful programming experience.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a data, analytics, or finance/ops role.
- Strong SQL experience, plus Python or a similar language.
- Comfort working with messy, real-world data and willingness to investigate rather than treat data issues as someone else’s responsibility.
- Executive presence for cross-functional discussions with senior leaders.
- Genuine interest in AI tools, with an ability to identify ways to reduce manual work in personal workflows.

Compensation and Location
- Location: New York, NY (onsite)
- Salary: USD 150,000 to 175,000 per year

Additional Qualifications (Bonus Points)
- Experience with dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, or BigQuery.
- Experience in healthcare or healthtech.
