Job Description

Lead the design and delivery of enterprise data engineering capabilities supporting analytics and machine learning.

Responsibilities

  • Work on data engineering pipelines, data modeling, analytics, and troubleshooting complex data issues
  • Assess and identify data acquisition strategies for enterprise needs
  • Design and develop programs to acquire data into Data Lake and Data Warehouse from transactional systems using appropriate tools and third-party adaptors
  • Collaborate with the data team to leverage cloud technology platforms for analysis, data model development, and report or visualization generation
  • Design the data flow that enables:
    • Data Scientists to build views for ML use cases
    • Data Analysts to build reports and dashboards in Looker or Power BI
  • Identify, design, and develop database artifacts such as Tables, Calculation Views, and SQL Script Procedures to stage large volumes of input and output data in the Data Lake
  • Participate in the SDLC, including status reporting, design reviews and approvals, detailed functional and technical documentation, and migration of artifacts to production

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
  • Minimum 5 years of data engineering experience
  • Experience designing and supporting enterprise data pipelines and data integration solutions
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms: GCP, AWS, or Azure
  • Strong SQL and data modeling skills
  • Experience with Spark/PySpark and one or more of: Dataflow, Dataproc, Data Fusion, Hadoop, Terraform, or similar technologies
  • Experience with CI/CD practices and source control tools
  • Experience integrating data from enterprise systems into analytical platforms
