Responsibilities
- Design and develop algorithms and models for large datasets to extract actionable business insights
- Select, apply, and interpret advanced analytics methodologies appropriately
- Effectively communicate insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical leaders and business partners
- Clearly convey the impact of recommendations to align and enable implementation
- Lead and manage large, complex projects and teams
- Provide prioritization guidance and ensure high quality deliverables
- Mentor and coach junior roles to support technical growth
- Collaborate with managers to distribute workload and resources
- Support recruiting and hiring efforts for the team
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert for one or more data science methods, both predictive and prescriptive
- Lead data science communities across several business units
- Leverage extensive business knowledge to inform solution approaches
- Build trust and collaboration with internal customers and cross‑functional teams
- Provide technical education on advanced analytics to the data science community
- Partner with IT to explore new tools and maintain agility for data science initiatives
- Actively seek new business opportunities to leverage data science as a competitive advantage
- Pursue ongoing knowledge by attending conferences and publishing papers
- Contribute to continuous improvement by codifying solutions, project documentation, and process flowcharts for future reuse
- Define best practices and a clear vision for data analysis and model productionization
- Own and document a library of reusable algorithms for future use
- Develop mastery in one or more prescriptive modeling techniques, such as optimization, computer vision, recommendation, search, or NLP
Requirements
- Must be eighteen years of age or older
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
- Demonstrated expertise in predictive modeling, data mining, and data analysis
- Demonstrated expertise using statistical techniques to identify key insights that solve business problems
