Job Description

Responsibilities
- Partner closely with various teams to design, build and maintain data systems and applications.
- Analyze and design data storage structures.
- Build performant automated data pipelines that are reliable and scalable in a fast growing data ecosystem.
- Leverage data modeling principles and modern data platforms to design and implement data pipeline solutions.
- Use analytic SQL, and work with traditional relational databases and/or distributed systems such as AWS S3, Hadoop / Hive, Redshift.
- Provide production support and adhere to the defined SLA(s).
- Demonstrate strong technical skills and attention to detail.
- Ensure data security, compliance, and policies in healthcare services.
- Test and validate according to industry best practices and communicate effectively with peers in technology teams.
- Communicate effectively with strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills across all levels of the organization.
- Prior experience in the healthcare industry is a plus.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in computer science or related; Master’s degree preferred.
- At least 10 years with a Bachelors and at least 8 years with a Master of recent experience in data engineering and end-to-end automation of data pipelines.
- Healthcare experience and Epic systems experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases and data structures.
- Strong understanding of data science and business intelligence workflows.
- Programming experience ideally in Python and Java.
- Experience with large-scale data warehousing and analytics projects, including using AWS technologies.
- Proven track record of successful written communication, technically deep and business savvy.
- Experience with machine learning toolkits.
- Experience in production support and troubleshooting.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience with modern data platforms (Snowflake, Redshift, etc) required; 10+ years of hands-on data warehouse design/architecture with AWS, Data Vault 2, or Dimensional Modeling, along with orchestration tools like Airflow or Control-M, containerization (Docker & Kubernetes), CloudFormation and Terraform, and AWS services (S3, AWS Glue, Athena, Lake Formation, DynamoDB, DMS, RDS, etc); Agile methodology and DevOps processes; modern data integrations tools (DBT, Informatica PowerCenter, AWS Glue or similar) preferred; 3+ years of data modeling and familiarity with AI/ML and BI tools is a plus.
