Job Description

Per diem Oncology Data Scientist role, remote, focused on cancer data collection systems, regulatory compliance with California and American College of Surgeons guidelines, and coordination of Cancer Conferences.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all cancer-related data collection systems for reportable cases.
  • Ensure adherence to State of California reporting requirements and American College of Surgeons guidelines.
  • Coordinate Cancer Conferences as part of the clinical data workflow.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in cancer data management or a related field.
  • Comprehensive technical knowledge of the Cancer Registry, including California reporting, ACoS standards, SEER and TNM staging, Patient Care Evaluation, data collection, and patient follow-up.
  • Strong grounding in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • Familiarity with computer tools, including CNExT, and general spreadsheet and word processing software.
  • Fundamental understanding of statistical computation principles.
  • Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) or CTR eligible; if eligible, must pass the CTR exam within six months of employment.
