Job Description

Peak Workforce (Newbold) LLC is seeking a Power BI Data Analyst to support an enterprise reporting and data modernization effort in Greenville, SC on a hybrid schedule. This contract role focuses on hands-on updates to existing Power BI and related reporting, mapping business logic to new data sources, and resolving discrepancies as systems transition.

You will work across reporting artifacts including Power BI, Microsoft Access, Excel, and SQL, ensuring refreshed outputs continue to match required definitions. The engagement also includes troubleshooting data connections, refresh behavior, and performance, while coordinating with business users and technical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Review existing Power BI, Microsoft Access, Excel, and related reports to understand data sources, calculations, refresh methods, and dependencies.
  • Map existing report fields and business logic to new enterprise data sources.
  • Identify missing, changed, or unavailable data and assess the impact on current reporting.
  • Update and reconnect priority reports while preserving required business definitions and functionality.
  • Develop and modify Power Query transformations, DAX measures, data models, SQL queries, and Microsoft Access logic.
  • Compare updated reports against existing outputs and source records to validate data accuracy.
  • Investigate reporting and data discrepancies to determine root causes.
  • Troubleshoot data connections, refreshes, gateways, performance, access, and other reporting issues.
  • Collaborate directly with business users, Digital, IT, and data-platform teams.
  • Document data connections, report dependencies, changes, limitations, and known gaps.
  • Provide knowledge transfer and documentation so solutions can be supported long term.

Required Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI.
  • Strong experience with Power Query and DAX.
  • Experience designing and troubleshooting Power BI data models.
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Experience connecting reporting solutions to multiple enterprise data sources.
  • Experience validating data and reconciling conflicting results.
  • Ability to trace report calculations and business logic back to source systems.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Access, including queries and legacy reporting logic.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and translate business reporting requirements into maintainable technical solutions.

  • Onsite schedule: 3 days per week onsite
  • Job type: Full-Time Contract, long-term
  • Pay rate: $64.79/hr to $69.72/hr (USD 64 - 69 per hourly)
