The Enterprise Analytics Lead Data Analyst role at Y. Hata & Co., Limited is based onsite in Honolulu, HI. This position serves as the technical authority for enterprise analytics, defining metrics, developing advanced analytics and AI-enabled solutions, and guiding reporting and decision support to drive accurate and actionable business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the definitions, calculations, underlying assumptions, and primary data sources for enterprise metrics.
- Act as the data steward for enterprise analytics, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and governance-aligned results.
- Establish and maintain standards for analytics and AI-assisted analysis, including validation, explainability, and appropriate use.
- Maintain clear, authoritative analytics and AI documentation, detailing assumptions, limitations, and guidance for usage.
- Govern high-impact analytics to mitigate risk in financial reporting, cost management, customer experience, and operational continuity.
- Design, develop, and sustain advanced Power BI dashboards with optimized data models and DAX calculations.
- Incorporate AI-enabled capabilities such as forecasting, anomaly detection, and automation into analytics where value is demonstrated.
- Continuously improve analytics solutions to enhance clarity, performance, scalability, and decision-making impact.
- Develop advanced analytical and AI-augmented methods for pricing, supply chain, customer behavior, and financial performance insights.
- Ensure technical accuracy, reliability, and performance of analytics used in planning, purchasing, pricing, and operational analysis.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, validate, and transform enterprise data.
- Apply best practices in analytical and AI-ready data modeling and performance optimization.
- Establish data validation, reconciliation, and quality-assurance practices.
- Ensure analytics and AI solutions comply with data access, security, confidentiality, and responsible-use requirements.
- Own the integrity of enterprise analytical data models supporting financial, inventory, pricing, and operational analysis.
- Translate ambiguous business questions into structured analytical approaches and actionable insights.
- Scope analytical requests with stakeholders to clarify intent, assumptions, and intended use.
- Enable self-service analytics through intuitive reporting, reusable metrics, and user education.
- Support cross-functional adoption of approved analytics standards, metrics, and reporting.
- Monitor adoption and effectiveness of analytics solutions and iterate to improve decision support.
- Mentor Analyst I and Analyst II team members in advanced analytics, Power BI, and responsible AI use.
- Set expectations for analytical rigor, documentation quality, and continuous improvement.
- Provide technical leadership to advance analytics maturity and data literacy across the organization.
Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Master’s degree in Analytics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
- Professional certifications in analytics or business intelligence (for example Power BI, SQL, data modeling) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of analytics, business intelligence, or data analysis experience with demonstrable impact on decision-making.
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including semantic modeling, DAX, and performance optimization.
- Strong SQL skills with experience developing and optimizing complex queries and analytical datasets.
- Experience applying advanced analytics or AI-assisted techniques (forecasting, trend analysis, anomaly detection, automation) in a production environment.
- Experience supporting analytics in operations-driven settings such as food distribution, supply chain, logistics, wholesale, or financial analysis preferred.
- Proven ability to operate as a senior individual contributor, providing technical leadership, mentoring analysts, and influencing cross-functional analytics adoption without formal people management.

The Lead Data Analyst for Enterprise Analytics serves as the standards owner and primary technical authority for analytics across the organization. The role defines and governs enterprise metric definitions, develops advanced analytical and AI-assisted solutions, and continually improves reporting and decision-support methods to enable consistent, accurate, and actionable insights for strategic and operational decisions. It carries enterprise-level accountability for the accuracy, integrity, and appropriate application of analytics and AI-enabled insights used in financial forecasting, pricing, inventory, supply-chain planning, and operational performance. Outputs from this role inform decisions with measurable financial, operational, and customer impact. In partnership with the Director of Analytics, the Lead Data Analyst sets standards, advises on priorities, and enables cross-functional adoption of approved metrics, models, and reporting. While not a management role, it provides technical leadership and mentorship to Analyst I and Analyst II personnel and influences how analytics and AI-enabled insights are defined, governed, documented, and used across the organization.
Salary Range
USD 76,000 to 102,000 per year
Days and Hours of Work
Regular business hours, typically Monday through Friday. Evening and weekend hours may be required, with occasional beyond-hours work and participation in company meetings or events as needed.
