Responsibilities
- Optimize, automate, and modernize recurring reporting processes across Blue Sky Risk (BSR), Insurance Specialty Group (ISG), and Totalis Specialty
- Reduce manual reporting effort through improved data architecture, automation, and self-service reporting
- Build, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions using Power BI and Microsoft Fabric
- Deliver reporting that is reliable, timely, and designed for practical business insight
- Partner with collaborators to define targets, reporting needs, and operational metrics
- Identify ongoing opportunities to improve reporting efficiency and business value
- Act as a consultative resource for Program Managers, executives, and business leaders on data strategy and reporting capabilities
- Analyze business processes and use data and analytics to recommend operational improvements
- Translate business needs into data requirements, reporting specifications, and actionable recommendations
- Support enterprise data enablement initiatives across multiple divisions and programs
- Perform data discovery, validation, reconciliation, and analysis across enterprise systems
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for major reporting and analytical solutions
- Produce and maintain data lineage, source-to-target mappings, and business rules documentation
- Maintain data dictionaries, metric definitions, and reporting process documentation
- Clearly identify source systems and document how data is transformed and conformed through analytical workflows
- Ensure reporting solutions can be audited, replicated, and handed over to future team members
- Support data governance by promoting consistency, transparency, and accountability
- Lead requirements gathering sessions, workshops, and solution-design meetings with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
- Drive alignment on requirements, priorities, and business outcomes
- Collaborate with and maintain strong working relationships with:
- Program Managers
- Underwriting Teams
- Claims Partners
- Finance Teams
- Executives and Senior Leadership
- Communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Influence decisions using data, business context, and recommendations
- Independently manage and prioritize 2-3 concurrent projects at different stages
- Own work from requirements gathering through implementation and adoption
- Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities
- Collaborate across business and technology teams to support successful delivery
- Support enterprise integration through standardization of reporting, metrics, and data management practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Engineering or a related technical field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in enterprise Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Business Analysis, or Data Enablement
- At least 3 years of experience in the insurance sector
- Direct experience supporting: MGA (Managing General Agent), MGU (Managing General Underwriter), Wholesale Brokerage, Reinsurance Operations, Surplus Lines / E&S Markets
- Proven experience leading reporting automation and operational improvement initiatives
- Experience supporting executive and operational collaborators
- Experience gathering and detailing business and technical requirements
- Advanced SQL development and data analysis skills
- Strong Power BI experience including:
- Data modeling
- DAX or equivalent experience
- Dashboard development
- Benchmark reporting
- Experience collaborating with Microsoft Fabric and working within SQL Server environments
- Understanding of data modeling, data quality management, data governance, data lineage, and reporting architecture
- Experience integrating and analyzing data from multiple operational systems
- Strong business insight, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and define actionable solutions
- Effective oral, written, and presentation communication skills
- Ability to influence collaborators without direct authority
- Strong meeting facilitation skills
- Demonstrated ownership and accountability
- Ability to prioritize competing demands and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience supporting insurance operations including Underwriting
- 5+ years of Business Intelligence or Data Analytics experience
- Master’s Degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, IT Management, Data Science, or a related quantitative field
- Experience supporting insurance operations including: Premium reporting, Bordereaux reporting, Claims operations, Carrier reporting, Program business management
- Experience with enterprise integration projects
- Familiarity with Master Data Management (MDM) concepts
- Experience working within highly regulated reporting environments
- Microsoft certifications such as: PL-300, dp-600, DP-700

Salary: USD 100,000 - 122,000 per yearly
