Job Description

A Senior Analytics Engineer in MPI's IT department, based in Studio City, Los Angeles, operates in a hybrid work arrangement to design, develop, and support enterprise analytics and business intelligence solutions.

Role Overview

The selected candidate will join the IT team in Studio City and work as an independent contributor responsible for shaping and maintaining analytics platforms. The role centers on delivering governed, scalable data solutions using Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Alteryx, and SSIS, with strong SQL skills to translate requirements into actionable insights. Collaboration with business users and IT partners is essential to ensure data quality, performance, and compliance. Local candidates only; relocation assistance is not available and visa sponsorship is not provided. MPI requires Covid-19 vaccination with exceptions as required by law.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver interactive Power BI datasets, dashboards, reports, and stories that are easy to understand
  • Build, deploy, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using SSIS, Alteryx, and Microsoft Fabric
  • Develop, optimize, and refactor complex SQL queries, views, and stored procedures
  • Design, develop, deploy, and manage Alteryx workflows and analytic applications
  • Provide daily operational and production support for Power BI, Alteryx, and other BI solutions
  • Ensure data quality, reliability, performance, and scalability across analytics solutions
  • Apply data governance, lineage, sensitivity labeling, and compliance standards using Microsoft Purview
  • Ensure regulatory compliance such as HIPAA in all aspects of data use and access
  • Collaborate with business users and IT partners to translate requirements into effective analytics solutions
  • Communicate professionally with technical and non-technical audiences through written, verbal, and formal presentations
  • Participate in design and peer reviews within the department
  • Stay current with BI and data analytics trends, tools, and best practices

Requirements

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Developer or Data Analyst
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Systems/Technology, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a knack for fast-paced environments
  • Proven experience building and maintaining data pipelines using MS Fabric, and modeling data with Fabric Lakehouse/Warehouse
  • Experience documenting data models, reports, and pipeline logic; solid understanding of data warehousing concepts
  • Proficiency with Power BI, including data preparation, modeling, DAX, and report optimization; capable of creating and maintaining paginated reports via Power BI Report Builder
  • Solid Alteryx experience, including workflow development, optimization, and operational support
  • Experience maintaining SSIS packages
  • Experience administering and supporting Alteryx Server, including upgrades, MongoDB backups, and issue resolution
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and trend identification
  • Experience providing production support for BI and analytics solutions
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of collaborating with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong reliability and attendance, with flexibility to work extended hours when needed
  • Ability to receive direction and developmental feedback from supervision
  • Experience in regulated industries such as insurance, healthcare, or financial services preferred
  • Experience supporting self-service and governed analytics environments; familiarity with modern data governance and compliance preferred

Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated base salary range for this role is USD 125,000 to 145,000 per year. The actual base salary offered will reflect factors such as the candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, level of education, and any certifications or licenses held.
