Principal Data Analyst

Responsibilities

• Apply open source and digital technologies to extract insights from diverse, large, and varied data sources and platforms.
• Develop robust data solutions, tools, and capabilities that enable self-service access for data consumers.
• Demonstrate agility in evaluating new technologies to support multiple initiatives.
• Collaborate with business partners to translate requirements into tools, techniques, metrics, and dashboards for insights and visualization.
• Conduct analyses that deliver actionable insights to inform business strategy.
• Promote data quality management principles, including metadata, data lineage, and clear business definitions.
• Partner with technology teams to oversee security controls and data access governance.
• Create and operate tools to monitor and report on data quality metrics.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (examples include statistics, economics, operations research, analytics, mathematics, computer science or related) with at least five years of data analytics experience, or a Master’s degree with at least three years of data analytics experience, with the degree expected to be completed by the start date.
• Minimum three years of experience with at least one scripting language.
• Minimum three years of experience using a business intelligence visualization tool.
• Minimum three years of experience in querying, analyzing, and working with data languages and platforms.

• McLean, VA: $131,300 - $149,800 for Principal Data Analyst
• Richmond, VA: $119,400 - $136,200 for Principal Data Analyst

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
