Senior AI Engineer

Senior AI Engineer role with Deloitte in Minneapolis, MN onsite, focusing on designing, deploying, and optimizing AI infrastructure and data architectures for diverse client projects.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients to design, develop, and deploy architectures that enable machine learning and automation initiatives.
• Apply advanced skills in modern data architecture, data science engineering, data transformation, and management of structured and unstructured data across cloud or on‑prem environments.
• Architect and lead development of scalable, high‑performance data solutions that support client business needs and AI or GenAI use cases.
• Refine data architectures, pipelines, and database schemas (Graph, SQL, NoSQL) to enhance algorithm scalability and agile deployment.
• Engage in architectural and deployment discussions to ensure solutions scale, are secure, and maintain high availability in cloud or on‑prem setups.
• Advance engineering practices in automation, high‑performance computing, and AI/GenAI infrastructure design patterns.
• Define and lead technology proofs of concept to validate feasibility of new data and cloud technology solutions.
• Demonstrate thought leadership and practical execution toward modern data architecture and technology modernization.
• Mentor and coach junior team members on technical best practices and professional development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, etc.) or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years in data engineering, data science, software engineering, or MLOps with a focus on AI and machine learning deployment.
• 4+ years designing cloud solutions and supporting production projects, with hands‑on experience in AWS (or Azure, GCP equivalents).
• 4+ years programming with Linux Shell/CLI, Python, SQL, PowerShell, or similar languages.
• 2+ years leading technical delivery teams on complex and critical projects.
• 2+ years of DevOps experience and working with CI/CD tools such as Puppet, Ansible, Chef, Airflow, Terraform, Jenkins.
• 2+ years of experience with database development and ETL/ELT pipelines across relational, NoSQL, and graph databases (including Neo4j).
• 2+ years deploying and optimizing environments using Kubernetes, Docker, NVIDIA TensorRT/Triton, RAPIDs, Kubeflow, MLflow, Kafka, and related tools.
• Located within commuting distance to a Deloitte consulting office.
• Ability to travel about 10% of the time depending on client engagements.
