Job Description

LMI is seeking a Senior Data Analyst/Data Scientist to support an Intelligence Community client in Washington, DC. The role combines advanced analytics, predictive workforce planning, and dashboard and reporting capabilities, with required on-site work at Bolling Air Force Base.

Role Summary

The position provides advanced data analytics and predictive strategic workforce planning using on-demand, intuitive web-based capabilities and reporting. Work will be performed in support of an Intelligence Community client and requires an active TS/SCI with a Polygraph, along with on-site presence 5 days a week at Bolling Air Force Base.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver advanced data analytics and predictive strategic workforce planning through on-demand, intuitive web-based capabilities and reporting.
  • Work with an integrated team of data scientists, data analysts, and HR functional SMEs to understand business processes, develop analytical requirements, identify key data elements, follow data protection guidelines, and interpret and communicate analytic results.
  • Analyze complex, organization-specific datasets.
  • Define and develop techniques to integrate, consolidate, and structure data for analytical use.
  • Support maturation of data quality.
  • Support transformation of business processes through automation.
  • Create informative visualizations and interactive dashboards using open-source and commercially available visualization and dashboard tools.
  • Provide regular detailed reporting to management and customers.
  • Advise non-technical customers on interpretation and use of data analysis products, dashboards, and reports.
  • Assist in the development of junior data scientists through technical mentoring, code review, and related support.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work both in teams and independently.
  • Identify, propose, and assist in the development of future analytics products tied to the data pipeline so customers can realize value from data products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, mathematics, computer science, economics, data analytics, or other related business or quantitative discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in data or business analytics.
  • High-level competency with data science and analysis coding languages such as SQL, Python, or R.
  • Experience developing dashboards using Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, RShiny, plotly, or d3.js.
  • Experience with data science methods including data architecture, data munging, data and feature engineering, and predictive analytics.
  • Self-starter approach focused on independently identifying opportunities for improvement through data analytics.
  • Team-oriented mindset and ability to maintain a positive attitude in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with business customers and technical teams.
  • Strong organization and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective customer relationship management skills.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work on client site in the NCR in Washington, D.C.
  • Active security clearance requirement: TS/SCI with a Polygraph.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher.
  • Experience using Python libraries to build machine learning models such as regression models and decision trees.
  • Experience with version control software such as Git.
  • Management consulting experience desired.
  • Experience working with unstructured text and natural language processing.
  • Experience deploying and maintaining models in production.
  • Previous experience with people analytics.

Location and Work Schedule

Washington, DC (onsite), with on-site presence 5 days a week at Bolling Air Force Base.

Compensation

Salary range: USD 110,000 - 180,000 per year. The displayed range is typical for the position and is not a guarantee of compensation. Individual salaries are determined by factors including location, internal equity, business considerations, client contract requirements, and candidate qualifications such as education, experience, skills, and security clearances.

Eligibility and Security Clearance

  • Only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
