Senior Data Engineer-Marketing Technologies

This on-site Missouri role as Senior Data Engineer-Marketing Technologies at H&R Block focuses on designing, developing, and deploying data solutions and MarTech platforms on Azure. The position collaborates with cross-functional teams and leverages marketing technology platforms such as Adobe Experience Platform and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test enterprise MarTech data engineering platforms using SQL and Azure data tools such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or Fabric.
• Apply Azure cloud technologies to support data needs and contribute to marketing projects on platforms like Adobe Experience Platform or Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
• Leverage modern data technologies, programming languages, and standard coding practices to add features and optimize marketing functionality.
• Design, develop, and maintain high quality software components.
• Create and execute unit tests, troubleshoot issues, and resolve defects efficiently.
• Collaborate with Product, Architects, and cross-functional teams to align requirements and implementation strategies.
• Translate business and functional requirements into clear technical specifications and deliverables.
• Participate in technical design discussions and conduct code reviews to ensure quality and consistency.
• Document system architecture, design approaches, and development processes for future reference.
• Develop and maintain unit test plans and alpha test plans to support product validation.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies to continually improve design, development, and deployment practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum five years of recent experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code.
• SQL and Azure data engineering skills including Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and/or Fabric technologies.
• Deep knowledge of SQL Server databases, with expertise in data analysis and data integrations.
• Proficiency with AI technologies to enhance day-to-day activities.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across varying levels of complexity.
