Senior Data Scientist

Ripple is building for what comes next in payments, stablecoin, and custody, and the Senior Data Scientist role is central to how decisions get made. You will drive evidence-based measurement across product and business areas, help teams adopt reusable scientific frameworks, and use modern AI tooling (including LLMs and agentic workflows) to speed up analysis and make insights more self-serve for partners.

Based in New York, NY (onsite), this position offers USD 164,000 - 205,000 per year, along with bonuses and equity. You will collaborate with product and business leaders, mentor other data scientists, and raise the bar for analytical practice through strong methodology and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Act as the data science lead for one or more areas: Payments, Stablecoin, or Custody, applying rigorous methodology to the hardest analytical problems.
• Partner with product and business leads to shape roadmap priorities, define what success looks like, and establish how it will be measured.
• Build scientific frameworks that teams rely on, including product and network health metrics, causal inference approaches, and forecasting that works across institutional and developer surfaces.
• Use AI to accelerate analytics, leveraging LLMs and agentic workflows to scale insight generation, automate routine analysis, and support data self-service for non-DS partners.
• Drive evidence-based evaluation of growth across customers, corridors, and on-chain activity, identifying causal drivers behind adoption and volume.
• Define and communicate the metrics leadership uses, translating complex results into clear narratives for senior stakeholders.
• Mentor teammates and model strong analytical practice to raise the bar for the data science function.

Requirements

• 7+ years in data science or quantitative analysis, with a record of measurable impact on product and business decisions.
• Experience partnering with cross-functional teams as the data science lead for roadmaps and decision-making.
• A track record designing analytics and measurement frameworks that other teams adopt and build on.
• Hands-on experience applying AI to accelerate analytics, including agentic analysis, AI-assisted insight generation, and natural-language data interfaces.
• Strong expertise in experimentation, causal inference, forecasting, and statistical modeling.
• Proficiency in Python or R, fluency in SQL, and experience with large-scale data tooling such as Databricks.
• FinTech, payments, crypto, or blockchain data experience is a plus.
• Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in a quantitative field is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills to turn technical depth into clear narratives for senior stakeholders.
