Senior Data Scientist (Membership Analytics)
Job Description
The role involves delivering independent data science, machine learning, and analytics insights using member, financial, and organizational data to support mission critical decision making. Work includes building descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive models, supporting analyses of increasing complexity with moderate supervision, and communicating results to stakeholders.
Role Overview
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will design and evaluate predictive models and advanced algorithms, extract meaningful insights from large data and metadata sources, and translate findings into charts, tables, and other decision-support formats. You will also test hypotheses, analyze outcomes, and interpret results while applying sound judgment within defined procedures and practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and evaluate moderately complex predictive models and advanced algorithms
- Identify meaningful insights from large data and metadata sources
- Test hypotheses and models, analyze results, and interpret findings
- Exercise sound judgment and discretion within defined procedures and practices
- Develop and code moderately complex software programs, algorithms, and automated processes
- Use modeling and trend analysis to analyze data and provide insights
- Develop an understanding of best practices and ethical AI
- Transform data into charts and tables that support effective decision making
- Build working relationships with team members and subject matter experts
- Lead small projects and initiatives
- Document and present analysis findings using effective written and verbal communication to a diverse stakeholder audience
Required Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of experience in exploratory data analysis
- Basic understanding of the business and operating environment
- Statistics
- Programming, data modeling, simulation, and advanced mathematics
- SQL, R, Python, Hadoop, SAS, SPSS, Scala, and AWS
- Model lifecycle execution
- Technical writing
- Data storytelling and technical presentation skills

- Working knowledge of procedures, instructions, and validation techniques
- Model development, communication, critical thinking, and problem solving

- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computers Science, Engineering, or similar quantitative fields
