Job Description
Build and operate enterprise AI on AWS-backed Databricks with a role centered on platform onboarding, reliability, and execution in a highly regulated environment. IDR, Inc. is looking for a senior engineer to lead onboarding of users, teams, and data domains while advancing integrations, governance, and cost-aware delivery of Databricks-native AI capabilities.

What you’ll do
- Lead onboarding of users, teams, and data domains onto the enterprise Databricks platform on AWS
- Handle complex technical challenges across external data source integration, governance, deployment of Databricks-native AI capabilities, and cost attribution
- Establish technical patterns, mentor junior engineers, and own integration work to scale access to external data and AI features for the enterprise
- Work hands-on with strong expertise in Databricks, data engineering, and practical AI/ML platform execution
- Collaborate across teams to support platform reliability, scalability, and governance
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, or cloud data roles, including at least 3 years managing Databricks in production
- Advanced experience administering Databricks at scale, including Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, cluster management, and job orchestration
- Proficiency with CI/CD for Databricks deployments using Terraform, Asset Bundles, or GitLab
- Mastery of Python, SQL, and PySpark for building reliable production data pipelines
