Data Analyst

CACI is seeking a Data Analyst to design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for the DoD EITaaS program within the DAF SIPR environment. The role centers on turning diverse data into actionable insights for enterprise IT service delivery, collaborating with stakeholders and technical teams to ensure secure, scalable analytics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Power BI solutions: design, build, and sustain interactive dashboards and reports that meet business needs; optimize performance and scalability; implement data security to safeguard sensitive information.
• Data modeling and ETL: create and maintain data models in Power BI Desktop; extract, transform, and load data from databases, APIs, and cloud storage using Power Query (M); ensure data quality through validation and cleansing; develop tabular and multidimensional models aligned with warehouse standards.
• DAX programming: write advanced DAX formulas for calculated columns, measures, and tables; optimize DAX code for performance; apply techniques such as time intelligence and ranking.
• Collaboration and communication: partner with business stakeholders to translate data needs into Power BI solutions; work with data engineers and DBAs to ensure data availability and accuracy; document data models, ETL processes, and Power BI solutions; engage with data gateway, data integration, and self-service data preparation; provide end-user training and support.
• Best practices and standards: follow Power BI development standards; stay current with new features; contribute to a governance framework for Power BI.
• Troubleshooting and support: diagnose and resolve issues with Power BI reports and data sources; address data connectivity problems and optimize dashboards for enterprise-scale deployment; provide ongoing maintenance for existing Power BI solutions.

Requirements

• US Citizenship required.
• On-site work at Peterson SFB, Colorado Springs, CO.
• Current certification for Security+ or CISSP, CCNA, or CCNP.
• Active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance.
• 10+ years of relevant experience (Bachelor's degree in an applicable field may substitute for up to 5 years).
• 3+ years of experience developing Power BI or similar reports, dashboards, and data models.
• Strong experience with data modeling concepts (e.g., star schema, snowflake schema).
• Experience with ETL processes and data warehousing principles.
• Proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).
• Experience with Power Query (M language) for data transformation.
• Experience connecting to and retrieving data from various data sources (e.g., SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, cloud storage).
• Expertise in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
• Strong understanding of data visualization principles.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
