Data Analyst (AI)
Job Description
Reef Capital Partners is hiring an AI-forward Data Analyst (AI) in Lehi, UT (onsite) to turn business questions into trusted metrics, dashboards, and analysis using Reef Analytics and AI coding tools.
Responsibilities
- Partner with stakeholders, including executives, to gather, clarify, and translate business questions into defined metrics and analytical solutions
- Own data-request complexity and ambiguity: ask the right questions, close gaps, and deliver finished outputs
- Deliver white-glove analytics work with clear communication from request to delivery, plus follow-through after launch
- Analyze business processes to identify key metrics, KPIs, and data-driven improvement opportunities
- Define data elements and maintain data dictionaries, glossaries, and metadata for consistent organizational understanding
- Design logical and conceptual data models to support reporting, analytics, and dashboard needs
- Validate and test dashboard data before release to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Collaborate with the Data Engineer to resolve discrepancies and address issues at the source
- Build and maintain dashboards in Reef Analytics using AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) as a primary development partner
- Use AI as a coding partner: review AI-generated code and queries critically, fix failures, and cover work AI cannot complete alone
- Apply data visualization and dashboard design best practices so executives can read and trust results
- Ship through Git and GitHub pull requests with code review
- Create self-service reporting solutions that support independent exploration while following governance standards
- Develop ad-hoc reports and automated recurring reports for operational and executive decision-making
- Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover insights, trends, patterns, and anomalies
- Provide actionable recommendations tied to business objectives
- Monitor dashboard usage and performance, then iterate based on user feedback
- Support data governance, including documentation of data lineage, security classifications, and best practices
- Work with the Data Engineer on integration projects and pipeline enhancements to expand data availability
- Train and support end-users on dashboard tools and data interpretation
- Scope, break down, and track work in Jira with clear tickets, acceptance criteria, and priorities for people and AI agents
- Manage a portfolio of stakeholder requests: set expectations, sequence work, and keep stakeholders informed
- Convert ambiguous requests into well-defined specifications for AI agent build cycles, then verify outcomes

- 3+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a similar role (data engineering experience is a plus)
