Job Description

Bitus Labs is seeking a Data Analyst focused on game analytics to join the Irvine team and work onsite. You will partner with product managers, game designers, and operations to analyze player behavior, measure game performance, and drive insights that support engagement, retention, and monetization. Fluency in Chinese is required, and this role is on-site in Irvine, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Examine player behavior, engagement, retention, monetization, and lifecycle metrics to uncover opportunities for product improvement.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Game Designers, and Operations to frame key business questions and provide data-driven guidance.
  • Create KPI frameworks and dashboards to gauge product health and overall business performance.
  • Perform deep-dive analyses on segments, funnels, feature adoption, monetization patterns, and user journeys.
  • Translate ambiguous business problems into structured analytical plans and actionable insights.
  • Monitor game performance across retention, engagement, progression, monetization, and player experience metrics.
  • Assess the impact of events, launches, promotions, rewards, and live operations initiatives.
  • Detect trends, anomalies, risks, and opportunities from player data.
  • Work with designers and product teams to evaluate gameplay systems, progression, economy, and feature effectiveness.
  • Support game launches and post-release reviews with data-driven analyses.
  • Design, run, and interpret A/B tests and controlled experiments.
  • Define experimental frameworks, success metrics, sample sizes, and statistical validation methods.
  • Apply hypothesis testing and causal reasoning to quantify product impact.
  • Ensure conclusions are statistically robust and actionable for stakeholders.
  • Present experiment results clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Handle large-scale datasets from player activity, events, transactions, and operational systems.
  • Build scalable analytics workflows using Python and SQL.
  • Leverage PySpark for efficient processing of big data.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering to improve data quality, event tracking, and analytics infrastructure.
  • Validate data integrity, identify tracking issues, and enhance data reliability.
  • Create dashboards, reports, and monitoring to support product and operational decisions.
  • Develop automated reporting to improve analytical efficiency and visibility.
  • Produce visualizations and presentations that communicate key findings and recommendations.
  • Deliver actionable insights that influence product strategy, game design, and business priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, or related quantitative field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Data Analytics, Product Analytics, Business Analytics, or a related role.
  • Strong Python skills for data analysis, automation, and exploration.
  • Robust SQL expertise for querying and analyzing large-scale datasets.
  • Experience with big data technologies and distributed processing frameworks, preferably PySpark.
  • Solid foundation in statistics, probability, hypothesis testing, and experimental design.
  • Hands-on experience designing, executing, and evaluating A/B tests.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to derive actionable insights from complex data.
  • Experience building dashboards and visualizations with Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • Clear understanding of product metrics and data-driven product development.
  • Ability to communicate analytical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Fluency in Chinese (Required).
