Job Description

Information Consulting Services of Delaware Valley is seeking two Data Analysts/Scientists for a contract opportunity with a large utility organization. The roles support the Digital Products Customer Analytics, Reporting & Engagement (CARE) team, focusing on utility usage, billing, and digital engagement data to inform dashboards, reporting, and customer-facing rate and bill comparison tools.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze large, complex datasets, including AMI usage, Customer Care & Billing, and digital engagement data.
  • Review data extracts and multiple data sources to identify trends, patterns, common themes, anomalies, and data quality issues.
  • Evaluate customer usage and billing information to uncover opportunities related to customer savings, billing outcomes, energy usage, and clean energy programs.
  • Develop Power BI dashboards, recurring reports, and visual summaries that track customer engagement, product performance, billing outcomes, and other key metrics.
  • Support analytics for customer-facing rate recommendation and bill comparison tools, including ongoing performance monitoring after launch.
  • Track website and digital product engagement, including page views, clicks, and customer interactions, using Google Analytics.
  • Review and validate datasets, vendor dashboards, and analytical tools for accuracy and consistency.
  • Collaborate with engineers, Product Owners, and business teams on data integrations, testing, validation, and resolution of data quality issues.
  • Help define consistent performance metrics and refine analytical methods used to monitor digital products.
  • Communicate findings, risks, opportunities, and recommendations clearly to technical and business stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple analytical workflows and priorities while following defined processes in a regulated environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 2 years of professional data analysis experience.
  • Prior utility industry experience, including hands-on familiarity with AMI data and utility customer usage datasets.
  • Understanding of how utility usage data is generated and applied in customer-facing analytics and digital products.
  • Hands-on Power BI experience creating dashboards, reports, and data visualizations.
  • Ability to analyze large, multi-source datasets and work independently with data extracts.
  • Strong data validation, analytical, and problem-solving skills to identify anomalies, inconsistencies, patterns, and trends.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow established processes in a regulated environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including translating technical findings into practical business recommendations.
  • Ability to collaborate with Product Owners, engineers, and business stakeholders while managing multiple priorities.

About the Role

This contract role is based in New York, NY in a hybrid work setup. Two Data Analysts/Scientists will support the CARE team by analyzing utility usage, billing, and digital engagement data to strengthen customer-facing products, customer experiences, and business decision-making.

Working with Product Owners, engineers, and business subject matter experts, the selected candidates will build reports and dashboards, validate datasets and analytical tools, and convert insights into actionable recommendations. Key initiatives include personalized rate recommendation and bill comparison tools that rely on historical customer usage and billing information. Prior utility industry experience and hands-on AMI data experience are required.
